STOPPING KIDS BUYING ALCOHOL
Your councillors are constantly being told that Off Licenses are continuing to sell alcohol to under age youths and that Rainhill suffers badly from the behaviour of these intoxicated young members of our community. We continue to press for Off Licenses that sell this alcohol to be harshly dealt with and recently the Police alongside Trading Standards have held two targeted under-age drinking initiatives involving more than a dozen approaches to various off licenses.We are pleased to report that EVERY OFF LICENSE THAT WAS APPROACHED REFUSED TO SELL ANY ALCOHOL.
Clearly the shops are getting more wise to the attempt by under age youths to buy alcohol and we must now campaign to stop adults from buying alcohol on their behalf.
