Rainhill again hit by Thieves

March has proved to be a costly period for many respectable Rainhill residents as their houses and cars have again been targeted by opportunist criminals. Three cars were stolen (View Rd, Rainhill Rd and Stapleton Rd) and at least eight were broken into.

Four burglaries took place in St Annes Place, Kendricks Fold, Weaver Ave and Warrington Rd. As Spring brings the lighter nights (and a warm spell currently), please ensure your possessions are locked and secure:

DON'T GIVE THE THIEVES AN EASY OPPORTUNITY.

  • Have just come across this site and looked at the crime in Rainhill with interest.Where do you get your crime figures from? In July 2005 we had our 4 month old caravan stolen from our drive in broad daylight and it didn't even warrant a visit from the police! I was only out for 3 hours and phoned the police as soon as I returned. I was asked to have a word with the neighbours to see if they had sen anything. Several days later the police phoned back to see if I had any news. This was the last we heard.

  • Sorry "anonyous" to hear of your less than satisfactory dealings with the police over your caravan theft. The theft details are taken from statistics emailed to me from Merseyside Police. Regards, Cllr Glover.
