Village Update

The village refurbishment is well on the way now, and overall, the traffic has been flowing around the diversion without too much difficulty. The wide pedestrian walkway outside Somerfields store is receiving the footings for benches and hopefully some floral displays. No longer will the white vans be able to mount the kurb and park there. • The new block paving in the village looks excellent and professionally laid but I am surprised no provision has been made for insertion of posts along kerb edges to prevent vehicles parking on footwalk. You highlight parking infringements as a key article, much of which is illegal parking half on/half off kerbs.
